The Valdés Peninsula- Whales sightseeing
PAT-112

Duration: All day

Heading towards the Isthmus of Carlos Ameghino, we will visit the Centro de Interpretación near the entrance to the protected area. We will continue towards a lookout point where we will be able to see the New Gulf, the San José Gulf, and Bird Island. Arriving to Puerto Pirámide, we will board small boats to sightsee the whales (from May to December) and the native coastal fauna. Finishing this beautiful moment, we will return to the coast and drive to Punta Delgada where we will be able to go by foot to observe the marine elephants--mammals of more than 300 kilograms. Looking towards the Atlantic, we will see Caleta Valdés, a geographic curiosity of 35 kilometers in length. We will briefly walk around this area before returning to Puerto Madryn in the afternoon.

City Tour
PAT-113

Duration: 3 hours

From the zone of Punta Cuevas, the City Tour is generally started where ruins still exist of the first Welsh settlement in the area. These caves are the first living quarters in Puerto Madryn and some of the oldest in Patagonia. Then, from the monument dedicated to the Tehuelche Indian, we can enjoy a wide panoramic view of the city, the beaches, and the surrounding area. After driving down different streets and avenues, each one with its own special characteristics, we reach the old train station, now the bus station. To complete the circuit, we continue towards the north until we reach the Almirante Storni dock and the Aluar aluminum plant, rounding off the presentation of the history and development of the city.

The Valdés Peninsula -The Ameghino Dam

PAT-114

Duration: All day

The Florentino Ameghino Dam is the ideal excuse to find more adventure, only a few hours from Puerto Madryn. Heading towards the south, and later going approximately 200 kilometers, we reach the dam, where the rocky cliffs form a reddish canyon that encloses the waters of the Chubut River for several kilometers. In the creeks, the vegetation and the color of the river water create a sight appropriate for relaxing and coming into contact with nature. During the entire year, the landscape offers adventures in rafting, rock climbing, hiking, photographic safaris, and trout fishing in the river's calm spots.

Punta Tombo
PAT-115

Duration: All day

After going 180 kilometers to the south, we find the penguin colony of Punta Tomba which surprises the visitors with the sight of hundreds of thousands of penguins that, everywhere you look, are going to their nests or running after their offspring. From September to April, this reserve is visited by a great quantity of tourists coming from Puerto Madryn.

This penguin colony is the largest continental reserve of the Magellenic penguins. It is very important that the visitors respect the pathways that have been marked and not move outside of them. You will be able to see how the offspring, once grown (close to February), swim close to their mothers in the lagoons that form on the beach while the tide is going down. Finishing this visit, we travel to Gaiman, an old Welsh colony that preserves its traditions.
