In Patagonia Argentina...

Comodoro Rivadavia is the largest city in southern Patagonia and constitutes the most important urban center and services center in the region. It is the starting point for the Bioceanic Corridor, which travels just 570 kilometers to arrive to the Pacific Ocean. Comodoro Rivadavia is located 1853 kilometers from Buenos Aires, and the two cities are connected by the north-south National Route 3.

It is the starting city for all of the southern roads, it is an important petroleum city, it is also a hilly city with splendid seascapes.
Comodoro Rivadavia is an extense city; the central area is located at the foot of Cerro Chenque, which extends 212 meters in height. From the top, the panoramic view is dazzling, with the city's sub-divisions sitting among profound canyons which protect them from the wind, the sea and all of its splendor touching the coast, and as a visual limit looking toward the north, Pico Salamanca, a hill 575 meters high whose perfect conical shape can be seen from almost everywhere in the city.

The city also houses the Petroleum Museum, ranking number 3 in the world, and the Antonio Morán Wind Park, which adds a special touch to the city's landscape. The city recently turned 100 years old on February 23rd, 2001.

The main office of AONIKENK Turismo is located here, and this is also the starting point for the great majority of the circuits for central and southern Patagonia.

The city is also the most important center for the development of the region; it has a very high quality metalurgical industry which comes from its long tradition of petroleum activity.
The landscape created by this activity is imposing and attractive; the oil fields located in the surroundings of the Basin of the Gulf of San Jorge supply the largest percentage of national consumption of petroleum. The characteristic pumping units cut silhouettes in the rustic and non-contaminated Patagonian meseta.
