Located to the northwest of the province of Santa Cruz, the Caves
of the Painted Hands are 550 kilometers from the city of Comodoro
Rivadavia; declared as Human Patrimony, they are located in the majestic
Canyon of the Río Pinturas, which houses relieves of hands,
images of guanacoes, geometric drawings, and pictorial manifestations,
all painted directly on the rock, in the caves, the overhangs, and
the walls, which date more than 9000 years.
To
arrive, we must take National Route 3 south until arriving to Caleta Olivia, we then turn onto Route 520 heading west until arriving to
the legendary Route 40, to travel 170 kilometers of dirt roads in
order to arrive to the area of Bajo Caracoles.
To visit this beautiful place, we offer 3 different programs with
pre-established departures, in all of which we sleep over in the traditional
Patagonian Ranches.
